Albert Stretton Jones served from 1925 to 1937 with the Manchester Regiment. Ernest Jones was taken PoW by Japanese forces following the fall of Singapore and lost a leg. Cap badge of Albert Stretton Jones and Bamboo crutch used by Ernest Jones during his time as a PoW are held by the Manchester Regiment Museum.
