| AdminHistory | Jim Maguire's parents were Irish and came to Manchester sometime around 1880 from Glanamaddy in Ireland. Jim served with the 1st Battalion the Manchester Regiment. He saw service in the Boer War, First World War (where he served in Mesopotamia and received the DCM - Distinguished Conduct Medal) and served as a fire warden in Manchester during the Second World War. |
