AdminHistory | Frank Hayhurst was born in 1896, attended Smedley Road Board School and lived at 19 Smeaton Street, Cheetham Hill. He enlisted on 8 Aug 1915 aged 22. He served as a signaller as was awarded the Military Medal for his service from 21 to 24 Aug 1918 on the ridge west of Miraumont, where he acted as signaller to maintain the line of communication under very heavy fire. |
