| AdminHistory | Born on 3 Aug 1910, Lance Corporal Edwin Jackson enlisted in the Manchester Regiment on 14 Apr 1933 and served for 13 years with the regiment in the West Indies, Egypt and Palestine before the Second World War. In Sept 1938 he was sent to Singapore where in Feb 1942 he was captured and remained a prisoner of war in Malaya until Oct 1945 when he returned home. He then served on the reserve list from May 1946. In Sept 1946 Jackson re-enlisted into the Manchester Regiment serving over 8 years before being discharged in Jul 1955. |
