| Description | Papers and photgraphs realting to the three Green brothers who served with the Manchester Regiment collectively from 1894 to around 1918. Albert Green first served with the 3rd Volunteer Battalion from 12/11/1894 to 31/3/1908, therafter he served in the 9th Battalion as Sergeant and then the Territorial Army. Harold Green was a Lance Sergeant in the 3rd Volunteer Battalion from 29/5/1903 to 31/3/1908. Arthur Green served with the 9th Battalion (enlistment date not known) as a Drummer and achieved the rank of Corporal. He was killed in the war. The papers comprise of certificates of service for Albert and Harold, a copy of the war medal award given to Arthur after his death, an official programme of the Royal Review of the East Lancashire Territorial Force at Worsley, 6/7/1909, magazine photograph of King George V and Queen Mary, magazine photograph of a reunion at Abbassia, Egypt, 27/3/1915, two postcard photograph addressed to Mr Willie Green, 10 official group photographs of the 9th and 3rd Volunteer Battalions in Egypt, South Africa, A;dershot, Ashton-under-Lyne and Dolphinholme.
