Description | Handwritten letter addressed to 'Dear Bert' from 'Your loving brother Reg.' 4 Renshaw Street, Greenheys, Manchester. The writer tells Cpl. Willmott that this is a private letter which no one else at home knows about. He is writing to ask Cpl. Willmott to write to the Army Paymaster to have part of his pay forwarded to his family as they are short of money at present. The writer asks Cpl. Willmott to reply to this letter "c/o Velvet Dept., H. Whitworth Ltd., 115 Princess St. City." The writer tells Cpl. Willmott that the Goodwins visit frequently, especially Jessie and says that he hopes Cpl. Willmott keeps up " ..the amateur theatricals..." as there are lots of vacancies in music halls, theatres etc. now. He mentions a school acquitance named 'Boyd' who has appeared on stage and writes about his social life and tells Cpl. Willlmott he is also enclosing a photo of himself with the letter.
