AdminHistoryIn about 1790 the Middleton family came from Derbyshire to Hyde where they intermarried with the Ashton family of Hyde Corn Mill. Thomas middleton's grandfather (also Thomas) was associated with St George's church and was a founder of Hyde Conservative Association. He also started a drapery business on Manchester Road in 1855 which was continued by his son and grandson. Thomas Middleton was born in 1872, the son of Henry Middleton. He was an active church worker, local historian and councillor.
